Default YouTube+ BikeVid= BAN(only if you show your face)

thread nicked from "The Motorcycle Folly Discussion Forum"

A biker is facing a driving ban after he filmed himself speeding at 100mph and posted the clip on YouTube.
The 37-year-old, from Burnham-on-Sea, Somerset, was easily identified because he filmed himself leaving his front door.
A camera mounted behind the windscreed of his 180mph Yamaha R1 shows him pulling wheelies and roaring past a school and housing estate.

After the video was posted, one of the drivers he overtook left a message on the website, reports the Mirror.
The jeep driver said: "Unfortunately I am one of the cars he passed that day doing a phenomenal speed and pulling a wheelie.
"I didn't see him until he was by my side, he was very close as well and the slightest drift to the right on my part and it could have been a bit rough."
The footage was spotted by police who - in the first case of its kind - are using the video as evidence and have sent a file to the CPS.
Detectives expect dangerous driving charges to be brought within the next few weeks.
Avon and Somerset police said: "He is risking a long ban. What is humorous to some could be fatal to others."

Only if your not in the UK, Japan, The Falklands Islands, Austrailia or New Zealand.

I guess if the police are GIVEN this type of video then they have to act on it..... but do they really spend time going through you tube looking for it....surely not ?

Anyway, I have seen much worse things on you tube, even if I personally would never travel over the speed limit or pull a little diddy wheelie

Exactamondo.

If you have a conversation with a police officer, about anything, they have to do something about it. That might just be a friendly chat, or it might be court proceedings.

I have it on good authority (my CBM ) that should I wish to provide video (which includes date/time/numberplate) to the police of any driver using a mobile phone whilst driving, that will be sufficient evidence to prosecute.

Now, where's me helmet cam? (Ride up behind car, get the numberplate, overtake, look at driver, tyvm, have some points! Thankers!)

No, the footage was given to the police by a member of the Burnham-on-sea residents association. Don't big yourself up Sherlock.

All that video showed was "someone" going fast. It could have been anyone on that bike.......and any bike TBH. Or am I missing something?
