Local road department at your council, local councillor/MP and local constabulary - not neccssarily in that order but do get you MP on side and demand a review under safety issues not only for bike but cars and pedestrians esp kids!

I'm fed up with having to wait a few seconds after the light has gone green at a local busy crossroad before it's safe to move because some **** decides it's okay to run reds.

Yeah I know that place, next to the travel inn. The actual crossroads next to it is bad as well for people trying to slip through on amber and making others wait on green.

Sightly off the topic but the traffic lights i've encoutered over the last week in Turkey are very good, once they've turned green it then goes into countdown mode, 30,29,28 etc etc...gives you some chance to know wether to go for the gamble or not, same also applies to the red light, tells you how long you've got to wait until it goes green
Only downside is if the suns behind you cant see the lights as they use 5w bulbs

If you do stand there with a camcorder recording traffic dont forget ya hi-viz jacket...frightens the life out of me when i see someone wearing one on the side of the road...keep thinking the rozzas are there

Do that and they're unlikely to jump the lights at all. Need to set the camera up on a tripod and take a few steps back.
