Top end gets taken away, and don't bother trying to Rev after 7000-8000rpm,,thats when it gives up..I do short shifting on my restricted pointy and i can keep up with bigger bikes.. Say bye bye to them on the straights,,but on bends you'll be up there with them,,hopefully ... I think you'll be happy enough with the 33bhp,,i am and when the restriction ends it'll feel like having a new bike,,bonus!!!!

From all the reports i hear that the SV is one of the best restricted bikes around.. It keeps its low-down grunt and runs perfectly. It can be abit sluggish when over taking over 60-70 but i try to time it to get a good run up and bam your past. Selecting a lower gear each time helps to. Otherwise i can't fault it,, best thing i've ever bought!!! Oh and top end,,most i've seen on the clock was 110 on the motorway (i mean runway officer )

I'm sure mine used more fuel before I derestricted it as well, but apart from that and the almost criminal lack of power, it ran fine.

Well I just picked mine up yesterday and mine is a restricted 02 curvey

Basically it's like the above mentioned but my personal experience is that I road it back and over the penines with gails in the face it would not even think about going over 70mph whether I dropped down a gear or not. Massive power reduction under under a good load.

However, once on lever calm ground it isn't quite as embarrasing. Never-the-less at my first oportunity I'm reversing this to get full power.

I did buy the bike knowing it was restricted but will sort that.

Have fun with yours I know I will soon.
