Thumbs down my first call for help!

i've been here long eenough to know to search these issues but i've tried with no luck

Driving yesterday "motorway" speeds the FI light came on - pulled in to hard shoulder.
1. engine temp was fine
2. revs at idle were 4000-6000 (can't remember but it was sustained)
3. oil level was fine - no leaks visible
turned the engine off then back on all seemed fine for another 100 miles then the same happened did the off/on trick and drove another 100 miles (all at pace too)

now i've got a 250 mile journey home, and am a little concerned. With the revs staying so high it sounds like a pretty distinctive problem.
any ideas?
thanks

i've trawled the search even further. Seems like its fairly common. Possibly a sticky throttle cable or a wire hitting the frame. It doesn't seem fatal at least. I'll give the FI diagnosis doo dah a go

Does it also seem like the bike is running with the choke on, even when warm (and you don't have a choke)?

There's a couple of options it could be that spring to mind.

Firstly, it could be that the CKP connector has come adrift. This is hidden between the frame & plastics on the rear, left side of the pillion seat as you're looking at it. I think it has green/black wires to it. SoulKiss had similar issues (high idle & very lumpy response above 7500rpm - like running a warm engine with full choke on).

Secondly, it could be the secondary fuel sensor. Stick it in dealer service mode, and I think the error code is c29 for this. You might as well stick it in service mode & look for any error codes anyway, if you can't find the list of codes, I have a bookmark with them in.

runs perfectly, could sit at 120 happily (long drive outside my house erm officer...), throttle was smooth as a twin will ever be , then even when the FI light came on it seemed to drive normally - other than the high idle. Dealer mode i'll do later when i find some wire!, trust my bike to go wrong when i'm away from home!

I'd check the wiring myself. I had the same issue on my clock and it was down to some rather dodgy soldering on my behalf.

Although I have to mention that I wasn't really concerned in the slightest about my FI light coming on seeing as the K3 clock is mounted to my carbed SV.
