Sorry to bore you, but I have a couple of basic questions for you all.
My SV will be spending most of its time on the track, and therefore I want to upgrade the suspension front and rear. I hear that a Gixer Thou shock absorber does a pretty good job for minimal money. My bike is a K3, what model gixer shock should I be looking to fit? Secondly - are Racetec cartridge emulators worth buying along with a pair of Ohlins springs? if so, who imports Racetec stuff into the UK? Thanks |

What's peoples obsession with ohlins springs?
Racetech do springs available in a decent range of rates (unlike Ohlins) and from the company that invented the emulator. |

Ah, but with Ohlins you get to put the sticker on your forks.
I said that like I was joking, hoping everyone's forgotten that I used to have Ohlins stickers on my forks...

Stickers go on the fridge/freezer doors, stuff like Ohlins ones go on the Snap-On chests, and when the fridge doors are full you start on wardrobe doors.

Or, just as importantly, they can be used to hide crash damage

I'm giving that a go at the moment, but you've got to try every approach I think, you never know...

Racetech emulators with racetech springs are pretty good. I'm loving them on the road anyway.

If you fit a GSXR shock make sure you also fit some shorter dogbones to get the back end up again. The GSXR shock is shorter so you will muck up your weight balance and steering if you don't do it, being prone to front end loses.
Spring brand doesn't matter, get something that is right for your weight and intended use. Emulators, be they RaceTech or Traxxion Dynamics are a huge improvement over stock. |
