Default Things I learnt today...

1. Not all coppers are evil, i got a motorcyclists nod from a beat bobby...

2. My bike knows more about cornering than me, if i just loosen my grip, grip with my knees and stop trying to corner it myself it gets on with it and feels much smoother

3. Suspension is different for every man and his terrain - last night i changed the front forks preload one setting softer (i think 3 --> 4) and today nothing could upset the front end mid corner, even on some of the islands most crappy roads (although i suspect this is a combination of 3 and 2)

4. Volvo C70 Cabrios have sensitive alarms even with the top up, set one off just rumbling by today

Just 2 and 3 by themselves have transformed my enjoyment of corners, i might extent the preload reduction to the rear shock as well, any thoughts? (70kg rider, very bumpy roads)

one thing i learnt a few years ago- "tyre pressures are quite important"
i used to be a tyre kicker, if it had air in then that was good enuf for paddy!
now i make sure the pressures are right.

I realised long ago, well, as soon as I rode it in fact, that my bike knows what it's doing far better than I do.
I always get the feeling that I'm simply an attachment with opposable thumbs, whose only use is to open the garage door and pay for petrol. Other than that I'm just along for the ride.

I learned that my neighbours don't like my can. I didn't think 8am was unreasonable but they have a different worldview.
