No doubt Puns will flow like the proverbial baby oil at a miss universe competition, but..........
Hi , I've got a K2 650s that has had an air horn fitted to it, before I bought the bike. Noticed today that when you press the Horn button there is a whirring type sound from the little compressor and not much else. I have checked the hoses that connect the little compressor to the horn itself and all seem snug. I detached the hose and tested the compressor and there is some air coming out of the thing but nothing that I would call great pressure, probably enough to pump up a balloon, but nothing of any note (no pun intended). Any ideas? Should I just go and buy a standard horn and attach it? I have found a 'tutorial' on how to fit dual horns to the bike, that looks like fun. BUT, any other info, i.e. how I can test the HORN part to see if it is working,etc.... Cheers Ian ![]() |

For the bike try an air line direct on to the horn, but be gentle with the air as these small horns don't need that much pressure and you could blow the reed if you use to much, sorry can't resist "Viagra"

If it's FIAMM, it's generally the compressor. I reckon you're better with the FIAMM snail-shell types, or the Stobel Magnum (the FIAMMs are all designed for dual use, one high one low, to give maximum horrific dissonance- that's much more attention grabbing than volume.) In my experience they don't last as well as you should be able to expect, perhaps it's the vibrations in a bike application. But then, they're not drastically expensive. The flat FIAMM piezo horns are not bad at all either, certainly easier to fit.
