Thanks for the input. I'll take a look around for a reservior when i get home from work. I do know that there is some kind of valve at the top of the shock. It just looks like the stem of a bicycle tire coming out of it. There is a metal cap on it to I believe...

Penske do a shock with no reservoir now, but it doesn't sound like this is one tbh.

While I was working on my bike today I found out what kind of shock it is. It is a Progressive Suspension shock. It looks like more of a cruising series of shock and as it turns out they actually make a shock specifically for the sv650. Nothing impressive, just something to lower the seat height and firm up the rear. I should have known this was the case, since I found a corbin seat on the bike when i bought it...Also hated it because it was too wide for me. So there you have it. Here is the link to their very unimpressive site. http://www.progressivesuspension.com/metric/index.html

American values- that's taking a bike the japanese would sell for £4000 and valuing it at £6000 isn't it?

Well the Yanks are still using inches and lbs... Millimeters are a part of the SI system or metric is strange to them So when you call Japanese or foreign product metric you at the same rime indicate the design measures ...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metric_system

I have on mys SVS one of those Progressive 420 rear shock and it is not bad at all to my daily use and i weight 90kg. I also have a corbin and my ass loves it.

I'm sure my ass would have loved the corbin seat if I were taller, but I'm only 168 cm with boots on and I just couldn't reach around that seat. It did feel really good on the one long ride I did when I went to pick it up. I don't have any complaints with the stock seat though.
