As for the bike get an old one to tide you over until you are not restricted then buy what you really want.
Oh and new is always expensive.Check out depreciation stats to see what I mean.
Dont I know it.Am getting 3k'isk insurance for my 07 k6 sport. The pre-reg one I was looking at has been reduced by £500 pounds to 3999 and may get more off it.06 k6 models with 1-2k are getting £3495.
I have to take into account that I have to travel to the mainland too.

My flight from Luton to Belfast was 29 quid, plus 400 miles worth of fuel to get home.

Should I....
(a) add money to it and get another new SV,which will have a free restrictor that I need.{Originaly got it for this reason and the 0% finance.}
Or
(b) Look down the line of a second hand SV or other bike.Bearing in mind the s/hand bikes are a bit more expensive over here and not as good of a selection.
If I was going new it would probably be a pre-reg 07 k6 with 0 miles £3999'ish.
Also been of work for 4-6 weeks will mean i will just be putting down a deposit on the new bike till i gather back some funds.
Got for the new one

My K6 with 12k on it netted me ?3250 from the insurance - and with GAP insurance I will be getting the full ?4350 I paid for it.

Decided to change bikes to something else (arriving next week) but I dont think that you can beat the ?3995 with a pound down 07 SV's if its an SV you want (hoping to buy mine back is another factor in getting something else)

Get the GAP insurance - sure its ?300, but as long as you are insuring fully-comp then it pays you what you paid for the bike (tops up the insurers payout), you should be able to get a deal on the GAP insurance down to about ?200 if you bargain hard enough.

I will still be paying off the first 0% loan I took on the first sv from black horse so dont think i could go down the 0%again.This time I will have my cheque anyway to put down as deposit. And think I will be getting GAP.
My bike was july 07 k6 sport and was told by the dealer I would only get ?3000 and it only had 2,800 mile on it.

When they process another 0% deal it will pop your exsisting one up on their system - then can then do one of 2 things

1) Create a new loan (what I did)
2) Make a bulk payment to your exsisting loan to clear it (I guess thats for trade-ins)
3) Apend the new loan to your exsisting loan.

So if you get your insurance payout and clear off as much of the old loan with that, you should be able to add a new 0% deal to the smaller outstanding balance.

I currently (until insurance sends me the cheque) have 2 separate Blackhorse 0% loans

And the GAP insurance IS a good move - £300 got me an extra £1100 (so £800 net)

Well good news on the insurance front, they have offered me 4k less my £300 excess. My local suzuki dealer will let me have the pre reg Dec 07 k6 sport for £3900 0miles.So for £200 I will be back on the road again,if my nerve will let me.Bit freeked by that thought too,but thats a different thread. So just need you all to tell me that what I am doing is right!Because i keep thinking maybe I should get a V storm or somethink dont know why
maybe think it would be safer.Anyway! What ye think?
