Fords are set to self distruct after 100k miles, always had a passionate hate for them as the Fiesta I used to have would cut out if you turned right, when it felt like it usually on the busyest roads or outside Mcdonalds when the chavs were about in the largest quantity. Strange that it didn't do it before going over the 100k miles mark..................Spooky.

Never solved the problem just sold it dirt cheap as a project and swore i would never have another Ford from that day forward.

This is true...

The few Renault's I've worked on have all been carp.
Seen a few Peuget's...not bad cars but a pain to work on.
(and worse to get parts for)

And of course you need those odd size spanners to even change the oil....

I've got a strange cutting out problem actually, occasionally I will press the accelerator but nothing happens, and then it takes effect...not sure what's going on with it at the moment, I thought mechanical (sticking throttle cable?) but expected that to only affect it when lifting off (i.e. might stick on), so then I thought maybe it's not firing all the time for some reason (changed plugs recently) - but it would be everything not firing rather than only some cylinders. That's as far as my thoughts on it have gone

I especially like Ford's use of a (rare) 7mm allen key on the front brake caliper sliders. Had to go buy one separately as none in any of my THREE sets. Why oh why?

Btw a tip for anyone else having window regulator trouble on focuses:

Remove the regulator, unplug it. Hit it with a hammer (I sh*t you not) and plug it back in. This fixes a fair amount of the ones that come into work.

Just something worth trying before shelling out for a new one. Although in the thread starter's case, it wouldn't really help.

That's what I did with the window regulator on my Golf. Works a treat.
