I've got an Evo in my RG550. It's a great pickup, but over time, I've decided it's not what I want. It's a little too focused and very trebly (in a good way, mind). I want something that sounds a little fatter and juicier- so I'm getting a Tone Zone to go in there.

I've got a Norton in the neck of my RG550- bit unorthodox as it's designed as a bridge pickup, but I put 10s on it last month and put better electrical components in it sounds killer for clean tone- really hard edged sound. It's not quite the classic neck tone- more trebly- you can get pinch harmonics out of it quite easily.

The Crunchlab/Liquidfire are what John Petrucci of Dream Theater uses (they were designed for him). That's enough for me! Huge DT fan!

Fair do`s, haha... My mates is THE biggest DT / john petrucci fan so i`ve been bashed with their stuff over the years.

I have a mate who has a Les Paul and switched the EMG 81 / 85 round and it sounds 1000% better, it`s amazing how thinking outside the box can yeild better results.

Pickups ordered from Jaden Rose- what a really top bloke! Really helpful and he makes stunningly beautiful guitars.

He's getting DiMarzio to ship them directly to me on Saturday. So a few hours of swearing and it'll be top tone shredding from me!

Check out his site- http://www.jadenroseguitars.com/

He's getting a hell of a lot of respect for his guitars. I'm currently lusting after the full maple pack in the original series.

I'm playing bass in a band at the moment (bass is always more in demand than guitar- its a numbers thing!). Going to start the songwriting process then be looking for drums, bass, keys, maybe another guitar (unless Keys will double up) and probably a vocalist.

Looking for doing something somewhere between Blue Oyster Cult. Metallica and Dream Theater's less mental stuff! I guess I'll see what falls out of me!

Howzabout you?

Well if your after a guitar player that sounds like the stuff my mate is into, I can have a word if you like? he`s based in worcester park & twickenham - so fairly local.

I`m just starting a new band (end of salvation) only had a few practises but things are shaping up ok so far. \m/

They look nice- I just thought "They're styled very much like boutique basses", when a boutique bass appears!

It could be a while before I'm ready to commit- though someone to bounce ideas off would be good.

very nice guitars there all round, that Jackson is nice, different paint job! i never really got on with my old ibanez, have always had EPS since, there is something about them that just ticks all the right box's for me, i dont really play that much any more, but i have always wanted to get a 12 string electric, i love my acoustic, gives such a lush sound!
