The "natural progression" depends on what you take from the SV. If, like me, you see it as a sporty, agile twin, then something like a Mille would be the logical step up. But if it's a budget learner bike, then basically anything goes. There's a lot of bikes that are better than the SV to be fair; )

What a question... "String, length of, how long ?" ![]() If you want a sports bike, then any of the superports models, if you want a sports tourer, then things like the VFR come to mind. If you like naked, and just want something bigger, then you can go streetfighter or retro... The questions you should be asking yourself are: "What do I want from my next bike, what am I going to use it for, and how much money will I have ?" And - what won't the old man want to ride ?? . |

Leigh, as the voice of sense and reason here.....
(pic of tumbleweed) .....Id say a ZX6 thing like VB's and Terms. But if you want to do some distance with your Dad, a sports tourer would be a good idea, and as Jelster says the VFR springs to mind. Look real nice too, especially in red. |

Conversly I am much more confident on a high bike with wide bars than on a low bike with low shorter bars.
So it may just be the bike setup, maybe the tyres etc. Maybe its just that the SV actually isnt the easiest cornering bike in standard setup. I never changes any suspension settings on mine as I knew I would be changing anyway by the time I even got the feel of the thing. I know I felt I had somehow got 'stuck' progress wise with mine and something wasnt quite coming together. A personal thing obviously. |
