Yeh, start of Winbledon is either guaranteed rain or the begining of a drought.

Totaly agree with the nasty rainbows on the roads but i actually enjoyed the rain on the way in this morning. It wasnt too heavy, little wind and not cold at all.
The best rainy day you could hope for imho.

Having said all that i hope its dry for the ride home.

The new potholes happen because of the surface of the road expanding in the hot weather, thensuddenly contracting when the cooler and wetter weather arrives, causing surface cracks(which is why the gritters were about spreading sand on the roads yesterday afternoon). The water then gets into the cracks, easts away at the layers below the wearing course on the road, and voila, you have the start of a pothole...
