Cheers Dave. Looks like I won't be on a bike for a long time.

Turns out my RAC cover pays for me to get back to the UK but not the bike as it was an accident, not a breakdown. Going to have to rent a van and go back over to pick it up meself. What a sh1tter.

Andy, to lessen the cost you could try get a few others involved to spread the hire & ferry costs, they could then take their bike's out there in the back of the van and make a weekend of it with a day or so at the ring, and the comfort of a seat and shared driving.

Don't think that's going to be an option really. It will be incurring storage costs and I can't even find out how much as no one at the garage speaks English. I go on holiday for a fortnight in 3 weeks time too.

If i'd have known this was going to happen I could've got a van in Germany and driven back (at least to Calais and then pushed the bike onto the ferry) but I was under the impression my bike was going to get sorted.

Hey ho, it's only money.

Lost the front end at Bergwerk. I slid and got up, the bike slid, hit the kerb and got thrown up onto the top of the armco, smashing itself to pieces.

Cue the handing over of lots of cash to various people.

Pics to follow.

Andy, I think that's the same corner Lauda crashed on.
You got off a bit lighter than him!

Sorry to hear about the bike not being repatriated. Bit of a downer
