got it all set up 2 pc's and a laptop at the moment just got to look into the security settings now, anybody got any tips on how to make my wireless safer?

Trend, Makita or Elu, 1/2" is best, the quarter inch ones just don't have the power, I find.

Change the default administrator password to something other than the defaults and put a mixture of numbers and letters into it.

Make sure you set WEP key as well and again change it from the default or basic key that the router was setup with when it left the factory.

still got this as default at mo, isnt this so i can just log onto netgear to change my setting? i have password'd the wireless signal.

You should change it. If the wireless password is compromised and the admin password is still default then a hacker could get onto the router via the default admin password, then they'll probably change it to something you dont know and then stop your own PC's etc from being able to connect to it, just to annoy you. Your then left with a router you dont know the password for... which at the very least will be very irritating...

its a bit like fitting loads of locks to your front door and then leaving a spare key outside under the doormat.
