Having now read many comments about the bad behaviour of certain fans at Donington with respect to Casey Stoner,(or rather the lack of it.) I have reached a solid conclusion on this issue.
Unfortunately the UK has a large amount of brain dead people who have simply over the years aligned themselves with Valentino Rossi and have brought the pathetic attitude as displayed by football fans to this great sport. They are blinkered so much that their entire world revolves around how their man performs and nothing else. Never willing to consider the broader picture or the efforts, problems and results faced by other riders. Their actual knowledge generally of the sport I would guess is marginal. I mean if another guy is better than your own on the day,you simply have to live with it.The season is long and many things can happen. Would they expect all other runners to simply lay down for Rossi? Rossi winning in front of foreign crowds where the home boys have truly had their asses kicked has been a common event,so what is it about these cave dwellers? I guess when you have a figure like Valentino who does attract such massive following, there is always bound to be a percentage that he wished he did not have. For one thing that Valentino is for sure.....a true sportsman. He has played it hard and controversially at times but his essence is a fair but tough competitior. Just a pity more of his "fans" cannot learn from him. |

TBH Pedrosa some of what you say is right... but some is wrong. I dont think its that the fans are brain dead, but as you said football yobbo's. They say what they think. I would tend to agree that from what I can see Stoner is a bit of a ****; here is why.
Anyone who says that to a croud many of which clapped and cheared him must be an idiot. "Well done for trying to alienate the rest of us fella" is all I think. If he was man enough he would have just thought "what a member" to the offenders and left it at that. His words should have been "Really enjoyed the win, hope you did!". Then the croud would think aye good lad. I also dont like the fact that unless he is winning by a mile then he isnt happy. He doesnt like to scrap/battle and because of the brilliant starts the Ducati gets tends to lead from the fron for entire races which imo is just plain dull.... if you enjoy that then F1 is for you. ![]() Cheers, Gr33k. |

I was at craners on sunday, near the big telly and didnt hear anything untoward said about him, saying that though as soon as the crowd invaded the track I set off for the car to try and beat the rush, wonder how he would fare on a lesser bike, like melandri,s

Melandri is popular in Italy, I reckon Ducati would have loved for him to be their new number one rider, and I'm 100% sure that they've worked their arses off trying to get him up to speed. As for Stoner's attitude, he seems like someone who wants everybody working with him to do the very best possible, which is fair enough - he's complimentary to the team when he wins. He's slightly annoying when he doesn't win. At Barca this year he complained that his bike couldn't live with Rossi's in the corners, despite it being massively faster down the straights - something which I have never heard him admit, though I await correction. Overall I don't like or dislike him, but he's bloody good, I don't find him the least bit boring to watch either. 'e dunnarf girrit sum welleh! ![]() |

Well stoners a good rider on a good bike, melandri,s a good rider on a good bike, so can it be all down to melandri,s skills on the day ? dunno, but I do think think stoner should stop moaning about the fans etc and start acting like the champ he is, btw dont dislike the guy, just prefer some others thats all.
