Most bikes have little quirks, mine will not start in gear with clutch in if the side stand is down.
As in parked on a slope leaving it in gear as a brake to prevent it rolling off the stand.

I've got to admit that I've called the RAC out for exactly the same 'problem' . At least I was at home at the time so didn't need towing anywhere. It's so embarrassing when you've checked everything like the kill switch before calling them out and then find that it's because the bike is in gear.

And on a flashy Nelli as well, I mean if it had been on a poor persons SV we'd have laughed, but its even more hilarious seeing the Nelli on the back of the flat back

phail

Actually, I;ve been caught out by leaving my bike in gear. I did it at boxhill, and then when i came back after a wee nd and a burgur (if you can call it that) I noticed my chain was taught. Oh feck. Dont have all the tools to adjust chain. feckity feckity, gotta ride 50 miles to brighton. feck. Ask for help, faff about with spaners

then remember

its in gear.

back into neutral and slackness returns. Tools away, lid on, boom out of carpark

nice here in phail corner
