What sort of miles are you getting before the light starts flashing?

See thats the difference, on my K3, as i understand it, i dont get a flashing light, only a sloid low fuel warning..

I think the K3 is the only year to have this, which could have confused a few people...
(Including Me).

My full power K3 shows 120 when the light comes on steady . I commute 30 miles a day with smooth acceleration and no going over 7k . Keep an eye on the tyre pressures and a nicely lubed chain , that can make quite a difference at this time of the year .

Chains only done a few hundred miles, replaced along with sprockets then too.
Got a scottoiler on it too.
Can check tyre pressures again, but seemed fine when i checked them.

you're getting the same fuel economy as me, 30 miles a day, light comes on at around 120 miles, dont reve over 7k most of the time (there are a couple of tunnels along the way......what a perfect place for 9500 rpm!!)

stop/start riding is a pain in the bum for fuel economy. If i just go for a long ride on country roads and keep the engine singing around 4-7500 rpm, i can see 150 miles easy before the light.

My journeys are about 15 miles each way for work, and 21 miles each way for college..

Only one town to go through, and i bypass it.
No start stop riding, maybe its just the way i ride..

No matter what I do I seem to get around that figure and rarely any better , 5 miles either way dependant on riding , unless of course it`s serious hooly mode then it drops to nearer 100 - 110

Quick question, the SV's tank is ~16 litres, how many litres are left when the solid light comes on my K3?

Dunno but I just about squeeked another 50 miles out of that before she stuttered on the forecourt of a garage during the fuel strikes last summer .... Pheeeeeuuuuuw , you are seriously pushing your luck though and have to ride bob on . On another occasion I was hooning and didn`t get much better than another 35 miles after the reserve came on . Just went past a garage as it died on me , luckily it was uphill so I paddled her around and footed it like a skateboard back down into the garage , got some very weird looks from people ........ stands to reason really , footing it into a garage , must need petrol ?
