Actually it's just occurred to me that BanditPat does have a point. If I remember my history correctly the Carole circuit in Paris was built to give all the local motorcyclists somewhere to race after their on road antics became to much for the local population. It's named after a young lady who was killed in an accident. Perhaps if we all get together and tear round our local one way system they will build us a track?

I need some more parking in my street too, do you think if I got all my mates to come round and park on the pavements, the council will decide to kick the dole bludging scum out next door, demo their house and let me park on the hardstanding left?

I doubt it, the dole bludging scum on the other side would park four of their eight cars there first....

if these kids were doing nothing wrong then maybe he overreacted like i said earlier, but just looking at their response to him firstly confronting them about it then taking pictures at least one of them is a total $£$%. Assaulting someone that is only asking for a bit of fairness is so wrong and to think anything other than that, well you would really need your head examined.

Nope....not his fault he got attacked....their fault, they did it. It would only be his fault if he were to do something physical against them. I've had people take pictures of me, Dan, the others with us and our land rovers and numberplates so that they could get the authorities onto us for driving a byway with a temporary restriction order on it. We let them carry on. We're adults.........we know that doing anything other than being at least civil would get us into more trouble. As it happened, they guy leading us knew the route was closed, didn't tell us until we had the confrontation, but we sorted it out. The guy leading got a £160 fine a few months later and that was that. If we'd attacked the man taking photos, we'd be in prison now for ABH/GBH.

Regardless of what these kids were doing....the very fact that they reacted by attacking him says everything about the kind of kids they were......pathetic! Police can do nothing without evidence, the MP was getting evidence. He was being the good citizen, they were being bad. He could be as stuck up and arrogant as anyone, but doesn't mean he deserved a beating and doesn't let these kids off the hook.

Well, when I was a kid (15-16) we had a real probelme where I grew up because there really was nothing for anyone to do after school and we were out in a semi rural town. None of the authorities would do anything, so........a few of us decided to approach local businesses and ask them to sponsor a new youth centre and park for us. After having to offer to work for free for 5 hours a day every Saturday and Sunday for these various businesses, they came on board and less than a year later, the local council got involved and we had a new youth centre. Now there is also an astro turf, floodlit football pitch and a skate park.

We took the bull by the horns and rather than moan and bit(h about noone doing anything for us....we decided to do it for ourselves.

Take that through life and you'll be sorted. I did my GCSE's then left school....no real formal qualifications and yet I earn more than most everyone else my age because I've gone out there and MADE it happen. People always say no in life, be they your local council, your bosses, your parents. The sooner you realise you need to do stuff for yourself, the sooner you'll get what it is you want!

I understand why you feel these kids were harshly treated BanditPat.....but don't defend them too much.......imagine that was your grandad taking pictures because they'd been hitting his car for weeks with their football and the police would do nothing "without evidence".

Sorry for the long posts, but too much moaning, not enough personal responsibility is the bain of modern society!
