You need to get yourself one of them new fangled ironing board covers that reflect the heat, they are great, they half the ironing time when you do pillowcases & stuff cos you only have to do one side.
ha ha ha ha.
Top notch Sir Foey .

I reckon this is the logical end point for all threads. The final rest point, 100% offtopic, discussing ironing and the relative merits of reflective ironing board covers.

To think some one had the nerve to suggest we were "getting staid" over at SV650.org.

Well, I think I win overall. I've been in bed since Friday morning with a bad cold. Slept about 18 hours yesterday. Since getting up I've had some honey and lemon to drink and then I read "Superbike Magazine" in the bath. I've just got to back up some of my mum's photos to CD and I'll be ready for a quiet evening in.

I've got a knee with three holes in it where a nice surgeon stuck a camera in to have a look round.

Only now it's gone and got infected so looks like a balloon with bubonic plague - or something out of a David Cronenberg movie.

My GP's nurse gave me some antibiotics that are doing feck all, so I figure I'll wait for it to drop off and then complain loudly before falling over.

Oh yeah, and I sold a set of playing cards on ebay for £410 - god bless nerds.

Today, I spent a fortune getting the lawnmower serviced, I got a full set of spark plugs and a thimbleful of oil, can't wait for summer to cut the grass :P

I am actually having a bit of a crisis at the moment, it's a style issue really but there could well be technical complications too, so I could do with a bit of advice.

Should I 'knit one, pearl one', or really go the whole hog and 'knit one, pearl two'?

What about Sl1, K1, PSSO (Slip one, Knit one, Pass Slipped Stich Over)?

SO pretty when done with correct tension and a good number 9 needle.

Whoa, slow down there. Who do you think I am - Sid Squid or Rictus!

There's no way I'm up to that level of technical expertise. Last time I even tried to slip one I dropped stitches everywhere, I had wool leaking all over my knees and the floor! It was just a mess.

I ended up having to take the whole thing to a specialist in the end. That just cost me more money for them to sort out my mistakes that it would have done to get them to do the job right from the start.

I'm eager to learn though, so wouldn't mind giving it a go if someone could be here to actually guide me through each of the steps - and make sure I've got all the the right tools of course.
