I'm quite let down, when I did it I didn't have any biscuits, so I just had to have a sandwich instead

As opposed to progressives, which come in two flavours, duel rate a single spring with two sections, one tighter than the other. or the second is turely progressive and gets tighter (coils closer together)from one end to the other. the linier springs give you a consistant feel thoughtout the fork travel, and the progressives give greater effect the more you use them and a lighter action over small bumps. But to be honest, it's a bit like tyres, everyone has an opinion on which is best. the length issue and what spacers you need, very much depends on the brand compared with what is fitted, plus (the measured sag, depends on rider weight, riding position, bike gyometry) pre-load addition. I like the progressives for road riding as I can have it fairly soft most of the time but it stiffens up nicely when I'm on the pace. However I've a set of linier springs which are better out on the track, but kill my wrists on the road (getting on a bit these days). so not even I've got a clue which is best? As to where to get them, well I'd have to say the Maxton Linier springs looked good, they probably have a web site, or perhaps progressive suspension, Busters accessories do some good priced one ( but I don't know if they ship abroad. Cheers Mark.

I'm pleased that everyone thinks that Sunday's effort was worthwhile and also that there seems to be a generally positive feeling that the bikes are improved, (and not broken
![]() It isn't always easy, for me anyway, to pass on information, despite the lengthy period of experience I have with spanners and motorcycles, I'm no teacher, but I'm impressed with the attitude that everyone brought with them, as this seems to have neatly made up for any deficiencies in my instructing ability, and I hope that all Mark and myself said was understandable and useful. In all a good day, no-one got pi55ed off or frustrated when things didn't happen precisely as they intended, there were no mishaps of a serious or non-reversable nature and it's very pleasing that all said they'd attend one of these again. A vote of confidence no less, Mark we must be doing something right!! ![]() Despite their being peppered around the working area, requiring a period of searching when we finished, I even still had all of my tools when I went home! Lets do something more complicated next time ![]()
