But more seriously, it doesn't matter if you are new or have been riding for years, I think Luckypants had gond for 10 years without a drop, and is regarded by many people that know him as being a good rider. Bikes are just rubber, metal and plastic - they can be broken, and they can be fixed. Follow what you want to do, if thats a 125, then so be it, if its a CB250, thats fine too - and yes if you really really want a Busa and can afford it, go for it.

Me too, don't know if it's just a 15 stone bloke thing but I feel all top heavy and wobbly on a CG125. I struggle with u-turns and stuff on a CG125, but can turn my cousins 600 Bandit on a sixpence. I hear the 125 Van Van is quite good in that respect, but I haven't ridden one.
The bigger bikes you sit in them, not on top of them and they are much easier and more natural to ride with lower centre of gravity. Hence my recommending the CB250, it has the substance of a 500, and that sit low in the saddle seat, but without quite the same power. Doesn't sound like MissRDoD wants an SV yet, even if she would be perfectly capable of handling one. No point in getting a bike you'd be apprehensive about riding. I agree with what someone said earlier about the SVS, the naked with high bars is easier to handle for a novice. I can U-turn the Bandit much better than my SVS and had a naked SV as a courtesy bike once, it was a hoot for filtering. Last edited by -Ralph-; 13-03-08 at 04:49 PM. |

The guy I work with went on a bike holiday through Thailand and this was one of his mates who had just bought a brand new 'busa. Not sure if he lives in Thailand or not. From the stories i've heard it was an amazing bike trip. 10 guys, 10 bikes and a whole lot of fun!
