Default Lambda sensor in aftermarket pipe?

i have just put a yoshi can on my 2010 650, bought the manifold aswell so i didnt have to cut the standard up.

any who,

there is no hole for the lamda sensor on the pipes, so im running it without at the moment.

is this bad? it runs fine with no problems.
just dont want to kill it so soon though???

Cheers sam.

i reckon the best bet would be to take it down an engineering place and get em to weld a mounting point for the sensor, shouldnt be too much hassle to get someone to do it. It will probably run now but its not taking a reading of the exhaust gases so its not optimising the fueling

The lamda system on the SV isnt closed loop so wont affect your fueling. If disconnected it will throw up an FI fault - pm me if you need info on how to get around this.

I guess you have just tied it up out of the way for now?.

Speak to sarah at Steve Jordans, they have a really good understanding of this issue there. I am sure it can be taken off by someone who knows what they are doing. i.e Steve Jordans.

so you have a full system ? if so you will want to get it remaped any way or it could run lumpy

Yup have done a fair few this year as it caused real problems to start with as most bikes had to run with the FI on permenantly when it was removed. After a bit of research we found the pin out on the ECU to bypass the Lambda so the ECU no longer looks for it.

A remap will liberate a few extra ponies and smooth out the throttle response too.

The sensor is only there for emmisions, it makes a very small adjustment at low rpm for homologation testing. No suzuki runs a fully closed loop system like the cars do so they dont alter the fueling that much.

Unplug, pin out ecu and remap and it will run as sweet as.
