i know this is the most boring subject on here now but can just one person answer and get it out of the way with quickly
what parts do i get to keep when restricting a carbed model? Like when a FI model is restricted the CDI (or summat like that) is changed and you should keep the origional one. When a carbed bike is restricted is there any washers or anything else i need to keep to put the bike back in standard form? cheers SPeeeeDY |

depends on the restriction: If yo get an F1 international kit the No.
if you get a suzuki kit then yes, the old carb sliders and spacers! If its anew sv then yes, the origonal ECU Box Should clarify It! |

CDI = Capacitive Discharge Ignition
All modern bikes have a CDI to control the sparks on the engine instead of a unreliable magneto unit. ECU = Electronic Control Unit Most bikes now have one of these, they are a more advanced version of the CDI. Unlike a CDI where it does the same thing again and again without change, a ECU can learn and do several other things such as control the fuel pump speed, restrict your bikes speed (33bhp), control the PAIR system and also act as a CDI unit. Also modern ECUs that are fitted to Honda's have the HISS system built into them to make overiding and riding them away near impossable. Anybody correct me if i am wrong The CDI on a K2 is just behind the rear cylinder, a small round box about 15cm long with power direct from the battery, timing wire and two HT leads to the plugs.
