Around 4500rpm if you hold it there it's not smooth at all, sort of hunts for the right revs to stay at, also when you put the power on it pulls hard up to 4500, then hesitates, then pulls hard again (not for long though, damn 33hp) up to about 7000.
Is this what is termed a flat spot? seems lean to me, its not massively bad, but still irritating. Its an '02 naked with 33bhp sliders and a fuel SS oval can with no baffle. Considering shimming the needles or maybe jets (doesn't seem to need jets to me though..) Ideas? Chris |

If you have the baffle the easy thing to do is put it back in! If it is lean then this will probably improve it. You may like the sound but it is probably detrimental to the performance without rejetting, and it's not worth rejetting whilst it's restricted to 33bhp.

When I come to remove the 33hp kit will this throw the jetting out again?

Mine with 33 takes a lonnnng time to get past the ton (only on a private road though...)
Standard should get up to those speeds much quicker.

stop it young man. You keep up wid me on a 33. why do you fellas get so obsessed with going quicker, faster. tut tut. go to a corner and tell yourself orf!!!! and yes its a 33 so will run out of puff at a certain rev speed whatever, buut mine won't go nowhere at full power anyway, and you'll still be able to toast me....tehe
