Seriously, MIB or Citizens Advice Bureau. You didn't cause this accident, whoever dropped the diesel did.

well me hitting the other driver is now in the hands of my insurance, and the diesel spillage is now in the hands of the MIB, ive got photos of the diesel and a police report about it, plus the councel did come out and clean the road and stuff. we'll have to see what happens

Sorry to say this, but in the wet you can actually see Diesel (goes really pretty like a rainbow), in the dry it just looks like a damp patch of road. Having hit a nice big patch of it in the dry you're at least as likley to come off as in the wet, maybe more so. Thankfully I stayed right way up.

the diesel was totaly visable when i went back to take pics afterwards as it was slightly damp, unfortunatly the way the corner is you cant really see the road till your on it. I should have seen it, but either i didnt or it didnt register.

here are the pics

It looks to me that into the corner it is spreading the whole width of your side of the road, so it would have been difficult to totally dodge anyway, even if you had seen it
