Hi Guys
looks like the second weekend in May is a strong possibility, not many seem too keen on the walking side but thats ok too really. Should I stick a post up in idle banter to remind people do you think ? |

I've amended the first post in this thread with a little detail. Again, everything negotiable, majority rules.
If anyone has an issue with the dates proposed, please shout up, and provide an alternative for people to consider. I'll get some rough estimates of cost for accomodation (and possibly food, but I don't know about that one). It's up to individuals to find & book specific accomodation, but if you set your heart on somewhere to stay, I'll figure out exactly how to get there for you & find out exactly how bike friendly it really is if anyone wants me to. I don't think a post in IB is really needed, we can just bump this thread (as I'm craftily doing now ![]() Mike, I have a pair of radio's & throat mic's. What's your thoughts on using these on the ride in case folks get lost etc? If you wanted, we could test these before hand, but they might not even be needed. All, thoughts please? Should we use the marker system designed for other rideouts? Or should we just get on with it? Depends how comfortable you guys (and girls ![]() |

Well, weather looks good, I'm off to ride the "Dogs leg" route Luckypants mentionned on my way home tonight.
It'll take me longer, but sod you lot & the ride, it's a route I don't know, so why not? ![]() Lissa, I'm not really worried about it, just putting ideas forwards ![]() ![]() EDIT: Well. If you like twisty road, f**K me that's a blinder of a route! Lots & lots & lots of twisty flicks to keep you guessing where the road is heading, sparce straights for overtaking tractors/locals but enough to cope with. I think when I grow some coahona's I might try that blind crested chicane on the A548 (after T junction where you turn left to head to Llanrwst) with a fist full of revs, it's practically a straight line anyway... ![]() ![]() I've also sorted out my "light frontend" mid corners, just don't ask how, and we'll get along just fine ![]() ![]() Last edited by Baph; 27-03-07 at 09:30 PM. |

I clocked the 'dog-leg' route from Llangollen to Llanberis today (seemed a good thing to be doing on a sunny afternon ![]() Dead reckoning from maps, put's the shorter route via Ruthin - Denbigh - Bylchau suggested by Lissa at 68.

Oh yeah, one thing about the A548 - the cops use it for high speed driver training. Had a brown tourser moment with a police training vehicle last summer when one appeared over a crest on my side of road as I exited a left hander in a dip - I was cranked over so trainee thought road was clear as he 'opened up his view ahead'. Lucky he got out the way with a few meters to spare, but instructor was sh1tt1ng hisself. I was making progress so did not stop to chat.
Saw another trainee police car out there today, which reminded me. |

![]() From Llanrwst, A548 passing through Llanfair TH, second cross roads after Llanfair TH, if you turn left, you go to the top end of Bryn-y-Maen & drop down to Llandudno Junction!! Betws yn Rhos is on the B5831 heading back towards Llandudno Junction! At that cross roads, if you turn right, you land in St. Asaph (past the industrial estate) on the B5381, or straight over takes you into Abergele. |
