Remember you are using one of the busiest stretches of the M6 (J19 -25) on a friday afternoon. It can be a real bitch.

Personally I will enjoy my jaunt north and use it for a bit of fun on those special roads only I know.

Hence my comment to Dough Boy about filtering... The one thing that we (the group I generally ride with) do like is a bit of filtering on the motorway. And some of them leave me behind at times

not had too much expereance of filtering on the motorway but i have drove from cardiff to bradford in the cage on a friday afternoon it took 8 hours (normally takes 4 ) as timwilky said the m6 is murder that time of day.

im still undeciced on my route, but going to the cat & fiddle seems a lot out of the way. im thinking i would rather take the quickest route

1) join jelster & co @ j20 of m6 (how safe is this, is there anywhere to wait?)

2) meet luckypants in north wales

3) go up to bradford on thursday, & join meet any northern monkeys on the friday, anybody going from bradford area

As a bit of an aside, can anyone recommend a good campsite or B&B in that area of the lakes?

cheers!

Some of us are staying here in the bunkhouse which is full. they have a campsite and I think there is one other camping there. Seems nice place.

Jct 20 is a good place to wait. The bridges over the motorway are nice and wide. The slip road off for the north bound traffic is ok. However, Fridays as said are pooey. If the guys are filtering, it might be a bit difficult to get over/off
