I have just fitted a modified K6 exhaust system to my K5 SV650. This consists of the orginal pipework professionaly cut and Yoshi can. It is an American TRS tri oval can and sounds terrrific. The bike obviously goes better without a cat restricting the engine but I am getting an occasional backfire on the overrun. Anyone know how I can tweak the ECU to get the optimum out of the mod? Do I need a Power Commander, and where do I get the maps from ?

Nice choice of can.
![]() I got my ECU tweaked after a dyno. A dealer/dyno centre with the equipment should be able to do it. about £120 for my ECU remap. |

Sounds good, any chance of a pic? You should leave it like it is though IMO, backfires are fun!

Was that a modded download map or a custom map?. Dependant on what hourly rate they run to you cant do a full proper custom map in less than 2 hours. The bike ideally has to cool down after a few runs and let the room re-charge.
Takes anything upto 3 hours dependant on how far out. Most places (i did a call round to make sure we were charging on par) charge between £110-£190 to remap. £190 being a bit steep for a FI bike. |

sv650 racer. Your a bit far for me, do you recommend jhsracing in bristol for mapping?
Got a power commander and wanna get a custom map done, I know what you say about PC's, but I've already got it! |
