A little optomistic calling them hero blobs as the only reason my sister's knee gets to the floor is when she's dropping the bike(but to be fair this hasn't happened for a couple of weeks) To be on the safe side and prevent anymore damage we want to fit some crash bobbins to replace the cone shaped protectors that are already on the bike and are of no use (pic attached)
I have seen these crash bobbins on ebay - would they be any good and is it just a matter of unscrewing the old and screwing the new ones on? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...MakeTrack=true |

Umh, they look suspicously the same as the Suzuki OEM bungs, I'd want to see how the mount to the bike properly before I parted with cash.
The Suzuki bungs screw to a bracket that then mounts to the frame, trouble is in a drop the bracket bends and then the bungs are useless. If it were me I'd stick to a named brand. Like R & G, have a search theres plenty of threads on the subject.

They mount in exactly the same way as the Suzuki OEM bungs do onto the flimsy bracket.
As Fizz said, the R&G bungs replace the entire bracket for somthing that is not hinged like the OEM rubish and will not colapse and bend in a fall. They also dont require any cutting. Ive fitted some to someones bike and it was easy.

Stick on some R&G's, nothing short of a tank would break them off

Very debatable, many peeps have had the bungs brake off so easly, in minor falls. For some they have worked fine.

IMHO whilst we could all disagree on which make of crash bung is best, the important thing is to get something branded/reputable, not some cheap crap off ebay.

Was that an R&G or the OE ones though? Never seen the R&G bracket fail, just the weedy bolts.

I always thought hero blobs were the little rounded lumps of metal on the underside of footrests?
