Default Tim's rant of the day

Time for another rant.

The road diggers have moved in. They are to replace the gas main. So they are causing parking problems as nobody can get near their houses. tough, the work has to be done. They refused to move their truck this morning for 30 minutes to let the refuse collectors do their work. Blaming parked cars stopping them from being able to do their jobs.

It is fine. They leaflet each house yesterday saying not to park in front of our homes. However, they seem to assume that the parked cars belong to residents. No they belong to the nuisance parkers who don't even live round here.

2 of my neighbours obligingly parked their cars on their drives. Guess what, a 4 foot trench has gone in front of their drives and they are unable to get their cars out. Apparently the contractors are waiting for covers to be delivered later in the week.

I won't move my car from in front of the drive, until such time as the covers arrive. Otherwise I won't be able to get the bike out the garage.

When they plan these exercises. do they not understand that they simply cannot prevent access to/from your property.

How are disabled supposed to get in/out etc?.

Muppets aren't they.

Mind you, if they had half a brain they probably wouldn't be digging holes in roads!

Like the thought of that one, the trench is only 18" wide. but 4ft deep.

I do feel for my next door neighbour with this going on. The poor girl is on nights with 2 JCB type diggers revving away with a pneumatic drill/compressor as well

on a serious note call the HSE and inform them that they have left unprotected holes that cause a risk to the public.

The HSE will respond as thier method satatment should either be alon the lines of dig hole and cover with suitable road plate immediatly, or dig hole carroy out works then re fill all in one process.

These ppl do not fall outside the HSE...

if you look you'll always find something to moan about. I'd ignore it and be grateful you get any gas delivered to your home.

Glad to hear your bins are being collected again

It is an offence to prevent a vehicle access to the highway....

I know this because some muppet parked on my drive, so I parked behind, blocking them in and told them to p*ss off when they knocked on the door demanding that I move. I got a visit from a friendly policeman that suggested that I move my car "after I finished my dinner, which is probably 3 or 4 courses" I hadn't even started cooking at that time, what a nice bloke.
