I obviously wasn't very clear when I wrote the first reply to this topic, the reasons I thought it was horrible when it was restricted have nothing to do with the performance; I was quite happy with the acceleration and top speed. The problems I had were things like the engine cutting out quite frequently, severely reduced fuel economy and occasionally the tendency for the engine to "surge" while held on steady throttle like when motorway riding. I see other people haven't had so many problems, or at least don't feel they were that serious, but I did write that I was stating opinions formed from my own experience.

Pointy with ECU restriction FTW! I had none of those issues.

Wierd problems like that are far more likely to be something else. I had none of those problems with suzuki kit on a curvy.

Pointy has slightly hotter cams, so if the restriction takes the top end down, then the curvys milder cams have an advantage.

saying that athough my Kwak has an oficial tested time of 3.39 i am really struggling to get it to beat the Sv of the line, it boggs down a lot unless you really rev it and slip the clutch a lot. hey ho the joys of having a high reving IL4!!

Twins and triples seem really easy to launch quickly, that's not to say an IL4 won't beat the pants off it with a rider who knwos what they're doing in a drag race.

The restricted SV isn't slow at all, still loads of fun, far better in the tight stuff though where you're below 60 most of the time though.

I'm confused I think my dealer just gave me the paper work for the restriction kit without actually fitting it. I found no difference restricted or not, 120 top end 0-60 around the 4 sec mark. if you get a k3+ bike it's a piece of **** to pull the restricted ecu out and fit the normal one. Older bike have the inlets restricted kind of difficult to re-fit them if needed quickly
(hint)
