Lots - because of WSB / BSB success, which has far more relevance to the road-going bikes.

Now "form over function?" I really cannot believe that you have really thought that out too much? Where do Aprilia's and Ducati fall down in their functionality as sports/race rep bikes? Benelli's and MV's?

Show me a better in your face naked/streetfighter than a Tuono or those produced by Benelli? They do it a little differently for sure just like BMW have always done and thankfully KTM are showing themselves not to be afraid of doing.
1. They're still in the business of selling bikes, they're still turning a profit. And I bet quite a few of the jap engineers have a deep love of bikes too.

2. That's just how they appear to me, the japs styling seems to be aimed at the sale, not making something pretty.

3. Streetfighter? Produced? Bah.... If it's not built in a shed it's not a proper streetfighter

To put it in a way that is less likely to offend you lovers of italian bikes, they're just not my cup of tea, the prestige marques have never done anything for me. I'd rather have something different that doesn't just say "I've got lots of cash"

I can get a brand new one for just over ?6k. Think the rrp is about ?6500....

Hardly "expensive" for a new bike. A Daytona 675 or R6 will will cost you more.

Yeah fair point.

It's still something I'd rate as exotic though, and I'd rather have something more normal (ish) but make it different from the crowd in my own way.

RRP is ?7349 (with 2 years interest free), but you can get a low mileage used one for ?4399.

That would be very tempting if I wasn't saving to buy a house.

Umm, they look better than a Ducati but if its breaks down, how many dealerships have they got?

At the end of the day there isn't a 'crap' bike on the market and everyone to their own.

+1

V-raptor thou, like a TL that handles.
However, if you want spare parts? Jobs knackered.

One Italian bike that I do like, I wouldn't own one though.
