You don't slip the clutch, you drop it.

Perhaps a naked is a little lighter at the front but i don't need to touch the clutch, just a crack on the throttle in first once rolling is enough, and then get it into second as soon as you get to about 9k, otherwise you hit the rev limiter bloody hard!

Yeah, but thats a power wheelie, you dont want to be doing them, you need to bang the clutch to get the wheel up into a proper controlled wheelie. Youtube wheelies for the difference. Tried it a few times and it works but each time the front end has come up very violently so i need to work out how to smooth it out and pop 'em at low speed.

1st gear roll ons are made easier (espicially on the curvy sv, not sure about the pointy) if you disconnect the retardation in 1st and second gear. cant remember what wires it is, but it basically helps prevent wheelies. someone will be around who knows a bit more

Nah it doesn't really do anything, it's in 2nd and 3rd gear where it's (in)effective.

Oh... no... not this again...

People, please read the facts before passing on useless information to other less experienced SV-er's! The SV650 is very lightly retarded, don't believe what you read in the adverts for these products or methods of bypassing it as it isn't aimed at the SV650. The products were designed to work on bikes which are more retarded, just because the SV650 is listed in the product list people instantly think the blurb applies to the SV.

This argument has been argued so many times and facts/testing still prove one thing, it doesn't offer any performance gain on an SV650!

im not on about that little gismo which you can buy which plugs in to the ecu. just disconnecting a wire did the trick, admitidly on the sv it didnt make a huge difference, but still no need of having, so of it goes!
