Speedo finally sorted out this weekend.

I fitted a different sensor that was smaller than the GT1 so that I could increase the gap between the sensor and magnets.

Its not been tested to a GPS, but its accurate to my OH's Bandit and the odo shows within 1% of my friends FZ1 on a 45mile jaunt.

Fantabulous....

...it means I can sell all my OEM front end bits now, and reclaim some of the £900+ the job has cost me!!

I think you should stubby your can and that would finish the look right off. Very nice looking now for a pointy. And a great informative read.

Best way would be to check using gear ratio's. Work out what RPM 70mph will be at then rev to that and see what the speedo reads.

Unfortunately the rev counter is also a bit inaccurate

No pleasing some folk around here...

Tell ya what. When the engine goes 'vroom' and the wheels turn around, the big number in front of me gets bigger as the trees move past faster.

The tiny numbers also count up as I go further.

Thats accurate enough for me!

It's not an MOT failure to have the clip-ons the way they are now. As long as the clip-ons do not move when pushed against firmly then they do not have to be located by any other fixings.

I don't have clip-on location bolts on my CBR600 because I moved the clip-ons from above the top yoke to below, dropping the hand position by about 2 1/2 inches. I don't have anything to locate with or against so I won't bother trying to. They don't move and my very strict MOT man is happy with that.

Face it, the only time the clip-ons are going to move is in a panic braking situation where all your force is against the bars and you've just hit something solid, and if this happens... mate, you're screwed anyway, so why bother.

If that happens, then the clip ons sliding a bit might even save you some dislocated thumbs... and they really, really hurt.

Because not everyone wants a screaming 4 cylinder UJM. Some people want a v-twin with better handling than a stock SV.

Nice conversion, it all looks like it all belongs there.

Has anyone fitted a matching Gixer 600 rear wheel in their pointy yet?
