Just a wee thought, I've got an '06 SV650N and stole my housemate's KTM 950SM (also '06) black Handguards to see how they look (see attached).
Now I've seen these in a KTM dealership (near croydon) for £30 +vat. or you could try http://www.dirtbikebook.com/acatalog...andguards.html http://www.eurotekktm.com/select_opt...productid=2882 http://www.ams4ktm.co.uk/shop.php?product_id=2252 http://www.ktm.com/index.php?id=248&...149&isotype=20 http://www.thornesuperbikes.co.uk/pr...=6000207910030 Just a thought, although I'm counting every penny as I just bought a '58 S40 R-design Sport-in Black Sapphire- I know, I know, but it does look good next the Black SV!!! |

Fortunately it was just a bent bolt as expected, I unscrewed it, hammered it straight, and it's as good as new.
It wasn't even on ice or anything equally spectacular, just a lapse in concentration as I was rushing to park up in Church St carpark. Had just got off and it leant away from me just a fraction too much and that was it, over it went. Managed to hold it all the way down so it wasn't a full on drop, I think that's why I've got away with a few scratches to the RHS crash bung and the bent bar end. |

Ordered mine off ebay yesterday and fitted them today. The instructions are a bit poorly laid out but I got it all together and tried it out in the cold.
My fingers were still getting painfully cold after about 90 min at 3'c but I'd say they're a reasonable improvement, maybe doubling the riding time. Shame about the increased width though, i've only got about 1mm left to get the bike through the back gate and up the slope (scuffed 'em already). I wonder if I could do without the spacers?

I think I read elsewhere that you can move the levers inwards to compensate. The steering lock still works.
