Default Preload adjuster help

right ive got myself some now. brand new. (Curvey)

I know i can cut the tube if so how much do i cut it by?

where can i get, or what can i use for the washers i need to replace?

How much is the spacer and washer kit?

Also

I have a stand whiich uses the headstock so if i use this, the springs should not fire out should they? (When i undo the cap)

Cheers guys

Easy to figure out, the OEM setup is three/four rings showing on the adjusters so all you need to do is measure how far the adjuster protrudes further down (into the forks) from the cap than the none adjustable one.

I have the measurement of 14mm in my head, not 100% on that though as I tend to just add washers to the existing early setup. It can be easily cut with a hack saw.

The stand will make it easier, less compression on the fork springs

When i done mine i didnt change anything other than the top adjusters. This will give a little more preload even before you start loading them up. YOU do need push the tops on and becareful not to cross thread them

From the back of my memory, it was 13mm that had to be cut off the tube. As well as the adjusters though you will need the washer as well. However, do the job properly, get the forks off, decent springs and new oil. Your bike will need it after all those years.

Same spec as the one which is in there under the fork cap at the moment, except it needs to be solid not hollow.

Yeap...

You want a solid one too, as you said, for the adjuster to push against.

All the parst are available from a Suzuki dealer.

Dragging this up abit, but am i right in thinking you can buy the pre-load adjusters for the later curvies and fit them to my existing forks?
