You'll need to machine up the central bar too, personally I think it is better to buy them from Nate or Blair. They are cheap for what they are, cheaper then R&G including shipping from the USA, and they actually work.

they appear to be similar to motosliders. If you scout round on ebay you'll find 'frame sliders' as motosliders are called. Blair is under SVRacing parts on ebay. They are not much difference in price, and you can trust his service.

A normal central bar AFAIK won't be long enough for them, which is why they send you a replacement

Fair enough. Ive got plenty of stainless bar to make the centre piece and was condidering making the sliders out of delrin or maybe alu. Seems as though you could make yourself a set for about 30 quid all in. Only concern i have is whether i shlould have the sliders free spinning or not. Ideas?

Don't use any metal as a bung material, it transfers the shock through to the frame more and also the purpose of the bung is to wear down and slide rather than dig in.

yea that was my thinking. But the reason im making these is hopefully to stop my leg getting crushed if it topples. Although i was concerned about transmitting the force to the frame. I looked at bracing it against the upper engine bolt but if the bung is located in the bore of the frame this wouldnt serve any purpose.

Dont happen to have the yield stress of delrin do you?

Sorry, haven't a clue. Just seen the after effects of metal bungs.

Motosliders do stick out a bit, but no bung could really save you leg from getting crushed as you don't really have any control in an accident.
