just a quickie...whats this called?

i need a bracket to get my bike back on the road but not sure what its called? anyone help? or have an uneeded one / know where i culd get one?

its the right footpeg hanger/bracket as shown snapped in this pic...sort of!




and here i think you can sort of make it out where the boken bracket has been cable tied....

(that chain was lovely when 4th D took it, must have left it outside me thinks, all the bolts furry and chain looks buggered!)

MOT, but 4thD should have done that before returning it as it should be returned ready for the road.

nah mate strange story, came off as you know, 4th d took it in november and its been classed as a write off.

now then noone has admited liability yet, however his insurance rang last week and said they would send me a cheque for close to 2k for it, and i could buy it back for £100, so i said yes and they would organise delivery of bike back to me.

so, next day (after me posting on here about gettin the payout), third parties insurance calls me and says they got it wrong as they thought i was fully comp. so wont be sending me the cheque after all untill liability is sorted.

i assumed this was the same for the bike aswell, but they delivered it back to me a few days ago, i wont argue with that! brother in law had a look at it yesterday whilst doin the rounds, and is convinced that a new mirror and new bracket as above is all it needs to be good to go (and the rest just cosmetic damage).

so not sure what will happen but im confident i can get it back on the road soon, untill the third parties insurance pays out, at which point ill either sell the sv cheaply / keep it as a winter bike, and fingers crossed get a TL, once the right one in the right colour at the right price comes along.

so the answer to your question, no ive not binned it again, still cant ride yet, doc thinks a few weeks / mid jan i should be ok.

ah yea well spotted, someones not had enough xmas tipple!!!!

and DD it just come back as was as i bought it back without them doing anything (although as above ive not actually paid anyone!)

Right first things first, get yourself healed up and fully fit again. Work on the basics of the bike, cosmetics can wait for when you have more money to spend or the claim is sorted.


Got to go, the miss' is bellowing, hope you are back on the road soon mate.

hope your okay mate. Looks like a hard one - your crash bung's took a right wack. Have you tried getting the main bolt out it looks like you might have difficulty.

was a while ago now Dave, beginning of november, was only doing 25/30mph so wasnt to bad, just a broken elbow, just got the bike back as a write off

managed to twist the whole bung off including the main bolt, but not had a proper look at it yet, so might be a bit tough!!
