Seriously though, that is a seriously mental amount of money to spend. For that price you could fit a different front end with 320mm rotors and 4 piston calipers! I have that and it will make your eyeballs touch your visor.

I got from a friend his pointys front end in excellent condition(240 euros),found 4-piston calipers for 96 euros, front brake adapters for 87euros. I will change the springs/oil laters(lets say 120 euros) and fit a radial mc(160 euros).Rotors:370 euros Total:about 1000pounds. Of course it would be better to find a GSXR front end but the reason is there are no such things in Rodos... ![]() ![]() ![]() edit:The cost in Greece for the GSXR upgrade modification is about 900pound in the best case... Personaly, there is no point in upgrading the brakes until you have tone the front springs and oil. All your new found braking power will just be lost in the suspension dipping and possibly bottoming out. I still fail to see the reason for upgrading the fornt brakes on an SV. They seem more than adequate for the bike.

So get the parts from the UK/european markets, there will be someone on here who would hold parts for you and send them off in one shipment and check they are suitable and undamaged. I would anyway.

I have Wavy discs (bought on the cheap) fitted to my SRAD front end, I haven't noticed any difference in braking power/performance over the original SRAD discs. |

You mean that 5g reduction in unspring weight didn't make you get to work 0.02s faster?!?!

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Guys the stock brakes are OK and even better with steel lines(btw DO NOT USE VENHILL STEEL LINES,their quality isn't good.Mine they leak at the caliper fitting and tend to rust.I will go for Galfer ones) Now you may wonder why am i putting money into my curvy?

My Brakings were heavier than stock GSXR, so I got to work 0.02 slower. They had to go. Looked nice though.

![]() Tolaros: As others have said, I would reallyconsider sorting the front end suspension to a high degree first, before fitting brakes that expensive. If you don't like the idea of a front end swap, you could consider uprated fork internals for your existing forks or, (if money really is no object) good quality aftermarket forks. You really would have a superb 'SV' front end then. ![]() If you want to sort the brakes as well (above new pads/braided lines), I personally would go for the GSX-r front end swap, if your insurer doesn't mind it. |

Very few gixxers here and absolutely no modifications. The idea of going to Athens ,search and eventually find a gixxer front end is out of the questionQtickets, expenses will go waaayyy up... I have already bought a front end of an SV k3 in a really excelent condition for 240euros:front end, calipers, wheel, fender. Not to mention that the extra cost of gsxr fork swap will go higher since I will need a speedo healer and money for the mechanic that will do the job... off topic:I mailed wilbers and filled their inquiry form(weight, luggage etc) for rear shock/springs and oil but they havent answered yet. |
