I was looking at my track photos, and it's obvious I'm sitting too far forward (amongst god knows how many other bits of bad body positioning!)
So I'm thinking of getting some stompgrips on my bike, as I can't help but slide right in to the tank all the time. Anyone tried them? Or am I just being a lazy sh*t ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I think when I slid myself to the rear of the seat, I found I had better leverage on the bars and thus made quick cornering easier. It doesnt feel natural at first, but pushing yourself as far back as you can and gripping the tank with your knees rather than your thighs will make a difference. It also makes a difference when hanging off.

Stompgrips are very good in my opinion. I've got a Daytona and kept getting bad ballache until I fitted mine.
If you don't like the full sized ones you can get smaller rectangular ones about 3X8 inches or so I think. They need putting on very carefully to eliminate bubbles underneath if you get clear. |

We all ride differently, to me you don't seem that far forward especially when compared to front end riders.

Looking where you want to go: Check
Elbows not locked straight: Check Torso not twisted: Check Everything else is personal really, you're looking a teensy bit gangly on there but you're obviously of the tall persuasion - you could try hacking a few inches off your leg length but that might be a bit extreme. Keep practicing gripping that tank with your knees, in time you'll be able to crack walnuts with your thighs and a promising second career as an exotic dancer will open up :gulp: |

Another little tip for trackday pics: Stick your hand in the bikini fairing and you should be able to simply unplug the headlights so you don't get a load of bad pics. (Not that those two are bad!)

![]() Time an embarrassing story then. After that trackday I decided to beef up the inside of my legs in order to grip better. So at the gym I decided to use that machine that normally has fat girls on it, legs akimbo, pumping their knees together whilst sweating chips. I got on the machine, put the 'middle' weight on. Did 25 reps. Thought 'this is too light', and put it up. 25 reps. And repeated until I was doing god knows how many reps on the heaviest setting thinking this machine was ****! Tired of the inane lifting I just forgot about it and carried on in the gym. The next day I woke up and I couldn't even move my legs apart enough to stop my knees touching. It felt like I had two rugby players forcing me in to the splits, ripping the muscles away in my groin. I could almost imagine them smiling as my balls finally touched the carpet when my legs were pointing in different directions! F*ck. Unfortunately I had to go to work, 7am-5pm that day, with meetings all over the site, including one with the big-boss who I'd never met! I'm sure he thought I was disabled, hobbling about the room with steps no longer than a cigarette packet. |
