The swear words thing reminds me of my mum's sister and her then new boyfriend.

You might recall me saying I am of Maltese descent, well my auntie met a serving RAF airman who was very English but stationed on Malta. He worked with a lot of Maltese guys and just before he was due to meet the family he asked them how he should say a formal hello in Maltese to my grandad. His Maltese colleagues thought it would be funny if he was taught something highly offensive and extremely insulting, and that's how my uncle Stan ended up with a broken nose the first time he ever spoke to my grandad.
