From my understand and doing some research into this, speaking to my collegeuges this what I know;

You don't have to have a certifitte, if you do you have one keep a copy under your seat.

Next if your going warp 9 I suggest restrication or not your in s*** aren't you if you get caught.

The third party insurance would still stand, however I wouldn't want to be in that sitaution.

The offence is driving not in accordance with a driving licence, which can be dealth with by an FPN(E) tickect or in court. In your situation going to court, had licence less than 2 years could be a ban.

Lastly the law is an ****, but hey what you gonna do?

Why? If you've lied to your insurance company, the basis of the contract between you is false and therefore the insurance company could either refuse to pay out at all or reclaim costs from you. If I'm insured on a scooter and then crash a fireblade, I wouldn't be expecting my insurance to cough up, even for the 3rd party.

I do find it amusing how if someone said they've done 60 in a 30, lots of bandwagons would jump on moaning about being dangerous, illegal etc..

Am I the only one who thinks this is just as bad?

New rider on an un-restricted machine?

hmmmmm

I think that when you are an young driver is very usefull and healthy to ride a restricted bike.
In Bulgaria(I am Bulgarian) we don`t have restriction about the power and the result is horrified. Many young drivers buy faster bikes like R1, GSXR1000, ZX-10 and every week during the season have few incidents(a lot of these incidents are with fatal end).

I see this topic has brought about a hot debate.

I do not wish to cause distress amongst people about restricting laws. I was more after the general concencus on what to do. As if the insureance would let me get away with it I would do it if everyone else did. But as it seems most people tend to restrict their bikes when legally required.

Therefore i beleive I will follow suite. This has been a very interesting discussion, thanks for your time.

Interesting. I'm pretty sure i will restrict it. I think I need to learn to ride before learning to eat,drink, wee and ride all at once. I'm sure it is a completely different animal unrestricted.

Saying that as a person of little thrilling experiences to enjoy in the week (dull job, friends with big bikes unrestricted). I'm not to sure how long the restrictor will stay on as I may be too tempted by the power....
