When you get it just ride, as much as you can. worry about dropping it and you'll make it happen. Take time to gel together.

I know i shouldn't get too excited and spend loads of money on mods just yet! BUT when i want to put on a tail tidy, do i HAVE to do the undertray aswell?
Also if i was to get a seat cowl, and remove the pillon pegs and handle, will this affect the MOT! I will keep all the bits for the future! But i won't be taking pillions, so i have no need! |

afaik if you fit a seat cowl it'll go through the mot with no rear pegs and the tail tidy goes on with the original undertray on the pointy i think still got to do mine come to think of it.

Congrats!
You can take an awful lot of foam out of the seat, should help no end. If at all possible try sitting on it with the seat covering and foam removed, just the seat pan. That'll give you an idea of what is possible. For comfort you can get away with surprisingly thin foam if it's good quality. Could save a lot of expense on other stuff. As for MOT, basically if it has a pillion seat fitted it must have footrests, but with no seat it can have them or you can remove them. Mine has a cowl and doesn't have pillion footrests, no MOT probs at all and the guy who does mine is totally fair but strictly by the rules.

Well that sounds good to me!
Is it recommended i remove the tail tidy without putting a undertray on. i don't think i'll have a rear hugger with me lowering it so much! |

The cowl & grab rail aren't part of the MOT AFAIK. So take them off & don't worry (unless someone contradicts me in a minute). Congrats on the purchase. ![]() |

Congratulations, nothing like your first big bike, where about are you? stick it in your profile, and get yourself down to a local meet, hopefully you’ll see someone with the mods you want on their bike and can ask them all about it.
