Make sure you clean all polish off with brake cleaner after.

Use rubber grease, put some in the seal grooves, install seal, press down on seals and wipe off excess. Smear a little round the pistons and install.
Cheers, I'm not sure you can tell from the photo but they are marks from pliers ...not sure they'll polish out. Guess I can make them as safe as possible though with a bit of fine henry cloth.

My floating disks travel a few mil too is that normal? I jacked it up and because the brakes were dragging when I moved the wheel side to side it made a right clunk.

Ta chris.

Er I hate to be pedantic, but why did you mark the pistons with pliers?

**** I was trying to get away with you guys assuming it wasn't me. *hangs head in shame* Because there was no power in the braking, the pistons would not pop out how ever much I pumped the lever so I wrapped the pliers in inner tube and took grip and pulled them out. I thought I was being gentle but these marks (pretty damn sure they were caused by me ) were on them so I'm guessing the pliers punctured the rubber.

Ahh ok, like I say, try polish the marks out, if they won't then it's new pistons time.

**** really? Nah they won't polish out I tried. If I can sand them down a bit so they don't feel sharp reckon they'll be safe to use? With the current pads I really doubt they even travel down that far for the marks to touch the seals.

Unless you get lucky and the marks will be above the level of the fluid seal.
