Depends how brave you are and how well practiced at throttle control. In a race I would practically release the lever fully, you'll get a light wheelie though but it accelerates like a banshee.

Fully dump the clutch? Wouldn't that make you lose power? (excuse my complete idiocy)

ok, I'll not argue over a second or two, you can certainly beat it though. One bike that surprised the hell out of me one day was a Honda Pan Euro 1100, those things take off like dragsters for the first 100 meters

If you wont use the rev-range and keep short shifting you wont get anywhere.

Thats kind of my route home - my SV is still off the road, but we can play with me on the Zed sometime if you want

Nope, and the suction from your a$$ sticks you to the seat as it takes off

Ah with you know, from stand still my clutch lever will usually be more or less fully released by about 4k maybe? for some reason I tohught feathering it out for a prolonged period ate your clutch and just took power away from the back wheel.

you sure? check again... IL4s will make the same torque as a SV just at higher revs, so your claim only works if we are talking rev for rev in 1st...

it just happens that the SV is quite easy to launch from the lights and onto WOT very quickly
