Probably should swap them but I see exactly why you don't want to and I'd feel the same. Under a mil depth is illegal IIRC, probably want more than that anyway though.

The heat cycle is important just as important as the physical act of the tyre working against the road surface.
Going flat out on new tyres might work if you are a racer, but on road tyres I wouldnt, 100 miles is a good distance to ride before you start to press on but I find it depends on the tyres, I'm happy on the Z6's after about 50 miles or so you can definately feel the grip levels improving as the tyre scrubs in. I woudl always advise caution on new tyres, lost count of how many threads / tales on the internet of going to hard and fast to soon and it ending in falling off.

lol If it was me, if they genuinely are bad I'd advise the buyer. I once sold a bike with bad brakes, but I told the guy and supplied the new rear shoes to him few weeks later he wrote it off, Luckily for me I wrote an advisory on the receipt!

Oh yeah of course, im not going to con the buyer. Ill check how deep the tread really is, and work out how much a new set of tyres is. Could always knock it off the price i sell it for and tell the buyer. |

I'm more concerned about killing than conning! tyres and brakes are important shiz. Then again I'm a bit uptight about safety.

The tread is only there for water clearance. I just have to be careful in the rain. I dont go for pleasure rides in the rain, and if i have to get somewhere then i keep it upright.
Ive got to save my money for theory re sits... ![]() |
