damaged letter in the post

i just got somthing delervered in an envolope, my mother signed for it, as it was recorded delivery, but when i got it i noticed the envolope was torn,

there should have been 2 spacers for my bar ends, but 1 was missing.
i have emailed the seller, but i was just wondering, weather i had to claim, or the seller?

Don't letters and such get torn when put through the sorting machine or something similar? Sounds like it has just fallen out then unfortunately. I've had letters turn up torn, always makes me think someone's been rifling through my mail

Mate, unless it was guaranteed delivery, you need to hope you have a nice seller person.

Well take it up with the seller because tbh, he/she should have packaged your items better. Leaving them loose in an envelope is asking for trouble.
