Police said that not only did I need to inform my insurance company, but that they would inform them anyway too as part of their checks.

Good idea with the whole getting a quote for fixing... I'll pop into my local dealer at the w/e and ask them to have a look.

I don't really want to go down the "my back hurts" route... I'm one of these weird people that thinks it'll come back to bite me!

sorry to hear this happened to you mate, but glad you were not hurt. It seems like people are becoming more and more blasé about the value of human life - must be a sign of the times . Hope the guy gets done for attempted murder

Just seen this, What a joke! how can someone think that ramming someone is a good idea?
Glad your ok fella, either the angels were on your shoulders or your one 5hit hot rider. Very well done for staying on 1, 2, 3 times! No doubt more intense each time.
Least the police have taken it seriously and I apprechiate your honesty regarding your lack of injuries its all these false claims that jack our premiums up.
Any news on the CCTV yet?

That's fair, but keep in mind it might not be immediately apparent. I got rear-ended in a car a year and a half ago. Barely felt a thing in the days afterwards and assumed I was fine. A couple months ago it flared up so bad I was in constant pain and downing paracetamol and ibuprofen like they were going out of style -all to no avail. I couldn't focus on work etc.. Visit to the doc, described the pain and he pegged it straight off as a result of a car accident without my having said a word about it. He prescribed some heavy duty anti-inflammatories which did the trick after 3 weeks of suffering (and I'm not the sort to usually complain of a little pain or discomfort) -who knows if/when it'll come back again...

If you feel anything at all in the next little while, it's better to speak up now. You can always choose not to follow up later on if it turns out to be nothing.

I was taken out by a van last year at about 30, was fine apart from few cuts and bruises. Over the past few months iv been in incredible pain. Lower back is the main area. Iv been having pyshio for a few weeks now. I can barely sleep/walk, and have started to pick up a limp. Nobody really has point a fingure on why! I had dismised that it could be the crash, and told myself and everybody else its normal, im just a wimp! But raeding this has made me think otherwise and it cant be not normal for a 17 year old!

Glad to hear you got out from what could have been a very nasty situation, and I hope the police do pursue him.

I just have to add, good on you for ignoring the folks saying "pretend you've hurt yourself".

Too often people get all high and mighty and moan about car drivers falsely claiming whiplash etc., but as soon as it's a bike-rider involved, it seems it's ok to say "pretend you have a back injury/leg damage/severed head".

For those that think there is nothing wrong with that sort of claiming, please, never moan about the price of your insurance.

Apologies for rant.
