Irrespective of any of that, your blade's still £500 outside his price range, isn't it

ZX7R cost me £100.51 TPFT, 3yrs NCD.

indeed it is, but

a bit of haggerling, and him stretching a bit more will have him an awsome bike

which is worth £3k

How come you're not selling it for 3K then?

well with a set of good pads and braided lines they were superb - noone in the hornet cup complains about the brakes or suspension - it easily good enough for most and I ride with good lean angles!

I complain.

I tried Berlins with endurance pads in and the lines weren't too squishy, the brakes felt distant and underpowered compared to the SRAD setup on my SV. They felt roughly comparable to standard SV brakes.

Did you service the calipers?

Calipers need new seal kits and bores cleaned that probably why they felt distant.

I don't even think YC knows where the calipers actually are he's that much of a mechanical numpty.

[QUOTE=captainsmelly;2003391].

Couldn't have a CBR, I'd always be wishing it said rr and I would feel like a pauper. How much of a step up is the cat then? It's a fair bit more powerful then an sv obviously but whats it like to ride?

Do I detect a touch of snobbery here? Or is it as you said that Hondas are a little bit like ars@holes (everybody has one)

Thundercats have pretty good handling, & excellent brakes. They're fairly roomy for a sports bike, so not bad two up. They perform pretty well, although, compared to an SV they would seem a touch revvy, as would be common with any 4 cylinder 600.

The Zx7'r is a pretty good bike, but like its 600 counterpart the maintenance schedule makes them somewhat more costly to run.

SRAD 600/750's are not bad & there are quite a few around especially in 600 form. They don't seem to take abuse very well, hence they can become a money funnel if you buy the wrong one. You're more likely to find a good Thundercat than a good 'proper' sports bike within your budget.

Cheers.
